SLG-V5, short for Symbiotic Landscape Generator version 5, is a web-based performance that explores the intersection between art, technology, and ecology through feedback loops in which sequences of symbiotic landscapes are generated from artificial speculations that challenge the division between nature and culture, reimagining their intrinsic interconnections. In this fifth version, the artificial speculations have as their starting point an ongoing selection of excerpts from texts that are relevant to questioning this dichotomy. Presented as an ephemeral film generated in real time, SLG-V5 also plays with the interaction between human and artificial creativity, combining creative coding practices with generative AI models.
The first versions of SLG were developed during the ANIMAIS artistic residency, organized by CADA and T-Factor.
SLG-V5 can be presented as an installation, featuring either a real-time or a pre-recorded video playing on a loop.
