Atmospheric Metabolism is a performance that converts the air in the space into an instrument and sensory interface. Two hyperinstruments translate the CO₂ from breathing and voice into a generative composition of sound and light, creating a metabolic system between body, atmosphere and technology. The involuntary participation of the audience transforms the work into a collective microclimate, an immersive essay on ecology and interdependence.
Hugo Paquete, PhD in Digital Media Art, reinvents sound as a tool for philosophical speculation and criticism of technological infrastructures. His practice composes with systems, algorithms and electromagnetic fields, revealing liminal sound events and converting noise into vibrational knowledge. Through performances and installations, he creates new listening frameworks for a post-techno sensibility. His work has been recognised by institutions such as Ars Electronica and ZKM.
